From our camp at Poplar Point, head upstream on the MacFarlane River, bounded by dunes, sand cliffs, and thick forest. The dunes are home to bald eagles, moose, wolves, river otter, and other wildlife, as well as 10 plants found nowhere else in the world. Or explore farther afield along Athabasca's magnificent north shore, to special spots such as the sheer cliffs of Reed Bay or the quiet solitude of Macintosh Bay.
Get in touch with the Dene culture of the north, explore the community of Fond du Lac, and hear fascinating Dene stories and legends.
